Hams Hall engine plant looking for new apprentices

BMW is recruiting new apprentices to join its Advanced Apprenticeship programme at its Hams Hall engine plant in north Warwickshire.

The plant, which makes four-cylinder petrol engines for Mini and BMW plants in Germany, South Africa and the US, is working with Sutton College to deliver the four-year apprenticeship programme, which covers electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.

The course will lead to National Vocational Qualifications at Level 3 and also a Foundation degree on successful completion of the course.  All apprentices attend college on a part-time basis while receiving on-the-job-training.

Ed Moss, apprentice trainingmanager at Hams Hall, said: “Investment in skilled young people is a key part of our development strategy for the plant.

“It is vital that we attract the very best young talent to ensure the business has the right skills for the future and we are delighted to be able to continue to offer young people the chance to join our apprenticeship programme.”

The BMW Plant Hams Hall apprentices will join more than 4,000 trainees working at BMW group sites around the world.

Applications for an apprenticeship can be made on online at www.bmwgroup-plant-oxford-.co.uk. The closing date for applications is April 17, 2009 and further information can be found on 0845 84 66003.

Applicants should ensure they specify Hams Hall as their preferred location on the application form and also when requesting further information over the phone.
