CMI research shows some bosses have not yet booked summer break

New research shows two out of five managers have not booked a summer holiday yet because of work or financial pressures.
A study of 1,100 managers by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) showed that even bosses planning a break expect to check e-mails and their voicemails for any work-related messages.
The institute launched a campaign urging managers to book some “well deserved” time off this summer. CMI chief executive Ruth Spellman said: “It is understandable that a heavy workload and the prospect of returning to a large number of e-mails and outstanding tasks can deter people from taking time off, but holiday has a positive impact on staff well-being and boosts productivity.”
