Dozens of jobs have been axed after a national training firm based in Birmingham collapsed leaving hundreds of young people searching for a new provider.
Skillsfinder UK Training, which is headquartered in Balsall Heath, has been placed into administration with all 40 members of staff made redundant.
Craig Povey and Richard Toone, partners and restructuring specialists at accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK, have been appointed joint administrators.
The company was established in 2007 and subcontracted apprenticeship training services to around 75 organisations across the UK.
Mr Povey, partner at Chantrey Vellacott DFKs Birmingham office, said around 450 learners have been directly or indirectly affected by the case and discussions are taking place with training providers to transfer services.
He added: "All trading in Skillsfinder UK Training has ceased and regretfully due to insufficient funding the administrators have had to make all 40 of the company's direct employees redundant."
