New life has been breathed into a historic building in Walsall with the opening of a state-of-the-art £1 million business centre.
The Old Foundry, in Bath Street and Windmill Street, was officially opened at an event attended by the Mayor of Walsall Councillor Gary Clarke, Professor Carl Chinn and Cheryl Bradburne, director of fundraising for the new Walsall Hospice taking shape nearby.
The building drew praise from attendees of the opening for the sensitive way the 150-year old foundry has been updated in just six months.
It offers office space of between 150 and 7,000 sq ft and has already secured its first tenants.
Interior design work has been carried out by Davies-Hobbs Designs of Edgbaston and the project has been executed by Halcyon Building Services Limited based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
Investment for the project has been provided by the Queen Anne Trust.
