The majority owners of the Brindleyplace estate have appointed specialist fit-out contractor Como to undertake the multi million pound redevelopment of Five Brindleyplace.
Hines Global REIT & Moorfield Group has appointed Como to work on a series of improvements to both the interior and exterior of Five Brindleyplace, which was until recently occupied by BT, and work has already commenced.
The building façade facing Central Square will be replaced with floor-to-ceiling glazing, providing occupiers with outstanding views and an increased level of natural light while opening up the floorplates and creating a contemporary and dynamic working environment that can be made bespoke to an occupier’s specifications.
The building’s main reception and full-height atrium will receive a complete refit, with the reception desk recessed into a double-height feature area in the rear wall and installation of an improved business lounge and visitor waiting area.
Igor Mathias and Jeremy Marchant, Hines UK and Moorfield, said: “The appointment of Como to this project followed an extremely competitive tender process. Como’s submission was of extremely high quality and we felt that they would deliver our vision for the refurbishment of this building.
“When it was originally delivered, Five Brindleyplace was cutting edge and unique in that it was created with the occupier in mind. Through this regeneration, we will ensure that it continues to be recognised as a leading business and office location both now and well into the future.
“The level of detail in these plans reflects our approach to the building as being much more than a refurbishment and providing us with an opportunity to ensure that the next occupier of Five Brindleyplace receives the very best in city-centre office accommodation.”
