Midland News Association sign up for online video service

The owner of the Express & Star and the Shropshire Star has become the first regional newspaper group to sign up for an online video service from ITN.
Midland News Association will take content produced by ITN’s multimedia division ITN ON to use across the websites for its papers in the region.
The deal means Midland News Association is the first local paper group to take up ITN’s services, following in the footsteps of the Daily Mail and the Daily Express.
Chris Leggett, electronic editor for Midland News Association, said: “As the publisher of two of Britain’s biggest regional newspapers, the Express & Star and Shropshire Star, we are delighted to be leading the way by teaming up with a leading video news provider on this exciting project.”
John Hardie, chief executive officer of ITN, added: “It shows in practice how a national TV news provider can work with regional and local news suppliers.”
