The publisher behind Fused magazine and the Area pocket culture guide has moved into new offices above the We Are Birmingham shop.
Fused, which is now in its eleventh year, has left its base at The Custard Factory where it has been for the last eight years to move into bigger accommodation.
The move means it can work more closely on events and exhibitions with We Are Birmingham, a shop selling art and crafts created by people in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
The outlet, on Kings Parade in Dale End, is run on a non-profit basis as a social enterprise.
Fused’s move also coincides with Kerry O’Coy, one of its editors, being named Birmingham City University’s Alumni of the Year 2010.
Ms O’Coy said: “Fused’s output of publications has grown significantly in the last 12 months and we are keen to capitalise on this.
“By moving in to the space at We Are Birmingham we are able to grow and strengthen the brand further with the introduction of more events and exhibitions in partnership with the shop.
“The new space is twice as big as our previous office which will help with potential staff recruitment in the future as the guide’s distribution spreads.”
Fused was launched by husband and wife team David and Kerry O’Coy in 2000 to unearth emerging talent and showcase new trends.
Originally a freely distributed regional magazine, Fused is now distributed internationally and sold in shops and galleries in key cities.
