Bankers fall in Birmingham - to help hospice

Bankers will abandon their suits for more appropriate attire as they attempt to abseil down their office building to raise £6,000 for charity tomorrow.

The 54-strong team of daredevils – made up of staff from Yorkshire Bank and their clients and familes – will descend down Temple Point in Temple Row to raise money for childrens’ hospice Acorns.

Julie Cranmer, asset finance partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solution Centre in Birmingham, said the money raised would be used to buy essential outdoor play equipment.

“We set the ball rolling by selling Christmas cards, collecting clothes to sell in the charity’s shops and buying gifts to give to children at the hospice”, said Julie, who has helped to plan the event along with her colleague Elaine Reeves.
