Interactive Telecoms still growing in difficult times

A go-ahead Midland telecoms company is fighting back hard against the downturn with a major expansion programme.

Interactive Telecoms, based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, has enjoyed consistent growth, and recently appointed two new members of staff.

Managing director Margaret Brewer said the company had trebled in size from four employees to 12, and forecast that within 18 months, the Vittoria Street base would house 25 staff, and 45 by 2012.

Margaret said: “I think the key to growth has been the commitment and conviction of the individuals involved; we have a very dedicated team who have worked hard to drive our business forward.

“Last year we opened the only Cisco demonstration suite between London and Manchester, which established us as one of the country’s leading Cisco partners, and since then, we have flourished.”

Now, Interactive has been joined by two new recruits.

Steve Crockett has joined the company as Senior Sales Account Manager; he has worked in Telecommunications for over 10 years covering a broad range of services from Broadband to Vehicle Tracking, with the majority of experience in Internet Connectivity.

Aimee Darby has also joined the team as Corporate Account Manager, and will focus on the UK Enterprise and Corporate markets.

Aimee has worked within the industry for eight years, with posts at Midland Communications, Avaya and Panasonic and Opal Telecoms, specialising in SME and Corporate Account Management/Consultancy, plus Voice and Data Solutions from the Mitel PBX Portfolio.

Margaret said: “Having worked at both regional and national level for companies such as MCI and Vodafone, Steve has extensive knowledge of companies in the West Midlands and is passionate about delivering a quality service for local companies.

“Aimee’s big win clients include Laing, Monarch and Cobra, and she will be a great asset to the Interactive team.

“We take this business very seriously and we’re determined to be on a fast track to success so that we grow at the rate we forecast,” she added.
