Deloitte snaps up Birmingham award-winner Deepak Parekh

Deloitte has taken on young corporate finance star Deepak Parekh, who was at the collapsed British wing of Icelandic bank Kaupthing.

While at Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander (KSF), Deepak played a key role in setting up the bank’s Birmingham office and establishing a presence in the Midlands corporate finance market.

He was named young professional of the year in the financial category at the 2008 Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards.

Darren Boocock, corporate finance partner at Deloitte in Birmingham, said: “Deepak is a recognised deal-doer with a strong local contact base and will complement our strengthened corporate finance team in Birmingham.

“He is well known within the local market and brings with him considerable mid-market deal experience, having successfully completed a number of high-profile transactions.

“Deepak’s appointment is a major boost for the team.”
