Halesowen accountancy firm joins Corporate Finance Network

A Halesowen accountancy firm has become the first practice in the region to join a new network of business advice firms.

Nicklin, which has its headquarters on Stourbridge Road, was chosen to join the Corporate Finance Network (CFN). The 50-strong firm is the first in the West Midlands to join the group.

The member firms in the network specialise in SME corporate finance deals for transactions up to £3 million including raising finance and facilitating buying and selling businesses.

Nicklin said CFN membership would help it offer tailored corporate financial services across the West Midlands, with exclusive representation in the Birmingham and Black Country areas.

And it added clients would benefit from specialist knowledge of the Corporate Finance Network’s rigorous training programmes, national conferences and specialist technical advice team.

Membership also bolsters Nicklin’s wide range of value-added services that include tax planning; mitigation; independent financial services; mortgages and overseas property advice.

Partner Chris Cook said membership of the CFN would make the firm more competitive, adding that specialist corporate finance advice was more important than ever because of the downturn.

He said: “Again, we find ourselves in a tough economic climate and now, more than ever, this is a time when practical business advice is critical for raising finance and buying or selling companies.

“Through our own experiences, we understand about succession planning and acquisition, this is how we’ve built Nicklin. By continuously improving our services, we’re the first port of call for clients.

“This approach enables us to compete with international firms and it’s why clients stay longer with Nicklin than other firms of accountants.”

“Kirsty McGregor, the founder and chairman of The Corporate Finance Network, added: “It is essential that businesses get the best quality advice and CFN recognises only those who are outstanding.

“Nicklin was chosen because they are business advisers, not just accountants. They are a highly qualified team.

“Being part of the CFN gives Nicklin’s clients access to a superior level of knowledge that other firms don’t have.”
