A joint venture between Freeth Cartwright and Coventry-based detective agency Expert Investigations is set to combat corporate fraud.
The initiative, called FRISK, will help employers identify and prevent threats within their organisation.FRISK will also guide businesses through the legal minefield of legislation once individual culprits have been identified.
Raymond Joyce, partner at the Birmingham office of Freeth Cartwright, said: “Every downturn brings about a rise in fraud levels, but what we are now seeing in 2011 is the after-shock from one of the worst UK recessions in memory.”
According to Expert Investigations, corporate fraud is increasingly evident at all levels.
Managing director David Kearns said: “There is currently a significant amount of small-time theft, particularly cash taken from offices, but there is a distinct increase in our involvement in large-scale deceptions.”
