Corporate experts at Wragge & Co have advised Talis Group on the sale of its library services division to Capita Group for £18 million.Corporate director Richard Goold led the team advising technology business Talis Group. The disposal of Talis Information forms part of the group’s strategy to focus on developing its semantic web platform and applications divisions.In acquiring Talis Information, business process outsourcing company Capita Group will extend its services to local government and higher education clients.Richard Goold said: “This was a complex transaction involving specialist intellectual property and technology expertise. Corporate lawyers at DLA Piper’s Birmingham office have advised Intertek Group on its £450 million acquisition of Moody International. Intertek provides quality and safety services to the energy sector and its acquisition of the technical inspection and certification company will extend capabilities across all geographic regions including Eastern Europe and give it new footprints in South America and Africa, resulting in coverage across Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas.Intertek is funding the acquisition entirely in cash from new and available debt facilities.The DLA Piper team advising Intertek was led by corporate partners Noel Haywood, John Campion and Charles Cook, together with solicitors Nigel Cooke and Mike Jackson.Rothschild is acting as financial adviser to Intertek.Read
