Cadbury ditch the gorilla and roll out the trucks

The advert that sparked a nationwide debate about Phil Collins, a set of drums and a gorilla outfit, will have its sequel aired tonight.

The team behind the famed Cadbury's ad, Glass and a half Full production, have announced the release of their next piece of tea break entertainment, Airport Trucks.

The director of the confectionery giant's Gorilla advert, Juan Cabral, has taken to the chair once again in this follow up, which features magically enhanced character trucks racing across a deserted airport runway.

A crew of 140 was involved in creating the vehicles, many of which went back to work at an airport in Mexico still in 'character'.

Marketing director of Cadbury's, Phil Rumbol, said: "It’s a magical piece of film designed to bring a smile to your face. The production is set to make unlikely stars out of the humble airport trucks much as we did with our drumming gorilla."

Phil Collins will not be featuring in the follow up. Instead a Queen classic will accompany the trucks down the runway.

The unconventional 'drumming gorilla' advert helped Cadbury's boost sales of Dairy Milk by nearly 10 per cent in the weeks following the ad's launch.The new advert will get its first screening at 9.10pm on Saturday.
