RH Freight takes office space at Fort Dunlop
One of the UK’s largest independent freight operators, RH Freight, has announced the relocation of its West Midland operation from Solihull to new offices at Birmingham’s Fort Dunlop.
The move has allowed the branch to more than double in size. It occupies 3,200 sq ft on the first floor of the former Dunlop tyre warehouse.
The expansion and increase in business created four new account manager jobs, taking the number of staff at the branch to 19.
The Birmingham branch of RH provides freight services for the Midlands. In 2007 it was the group’s most profitable branch and is the largest in the group.
Branch manager James Frost, said: “This is a great move and we’re extremely excited. We have a talented and enthusiastic team who, having been so successful in the Solihull office, are keen to replicate that success here through an excellent knowledge of the local market and our customer’s needs.”
“Fort Dunlop not only offers us a bigger and better working environment but also excellent access to the M6 and a real chance to grow the business further,” he added.
RH has had a presence in the region since 1976, and has doubled its turnover there in the last two years, making it one of the largest regional offices in the RH Group.
With its expansion into larger premises, it is hoping to become the market leader for European freight in the West Midlands.
RH Freight employs more than 700 staff across the UK and Finland. Last year the company had a turnover of £121 million.
