Floors-2-Go yet to attract interest

The search was continuing last night for a buyer for Floors-2-Go, the flooring materials retailer that went into administration this week.

Administrators from Kroll have closed 41 of the company’s 132 stores – including branches in Wolverhampton and Walsall – after being called in on Monday night.

They axed the jobs of 100 of the company’s workforce.

The company was a victim of the downturn in spending on home improvements, Kroll partner Fraser Gray said.

The remaining branches are continuing to trade while administrators looked for a potential buyer.

“Floors-2-Go has a strong brand, well-dispersed nationwide network, established online presence and a contracts division.

“So despite the harsh conditions we remain hopeful of selling the business as a going concern,” Mr Gray said.
