Newbury racecourse set to follow different track

Newbury Racecourse said it was pressing ahead with plans to offer more events, to broaden its appeal in “increasingly challenging” trading conditions.
The Berkshire racecourse has been hit by falling demand in the conferencing and events sector, leaving it with pre-tax losses of £96,000 in 2008.
It is now working on a revamp for non-race days and residential development on its surplus land.
