Quarter-plus sales slump focuses JJB Sports

JJB Sports has ruled out a quick fix to trading problems after revealing like-for-like store sales had slumped by more than a quarter.

The Wigan-based firm said uncertainty meant suppliers were reluctant to deal with them, leaving stock levels 50 per cent below the previous year.

The chain had bottom-line losses of £189.2m for the year to January 25.
