MORE than 1,100 jobs are set to be created after plans for a large casino at the Birmingham NEC were given the green light.

The £120 million Resorts World leisure and entertainment complex is being developed in partnership with the NEC Group and the scheme will still be subject to planning consent.
The 55,000 square metre facility will include a casino, hotel, spa, banqueting and conference centre, multi-screen cinema, retail units, bars and restaurants.
It is hoped the new complex, situated between the LG Arena and the Crowne Plaza Hotel, could be up and running by 2013.
