Paul Evans named as IT chief at Oaklands
Midlands-based Oakland International has named Paul Evans as its new IT and infrastructure manager, with primary responsibility for taking the company’s IT infrastructure to the next level.
Paul brings the family-run Redditch company, which specialises in supply chain and logistics, considerable industry experience and a wealth of knowledge from his 20 years of working within both chilled and ambient distribution environments.
Previously holding the role of systems and implementation manager responsible for development and client business integration, he is now tasked with extending Oakland’s customer focused service offer.
Paul Ziolek, Oakland’s operations director said: “Paul’s appointment as IT and infrastructure manager is a key ingredient to Oakland’s ongoing programme of continual business investment in new technology and IT solutions to support our ever growing UK, Irish and international client base.
“With Paul’s expertise we plan to develop and upgrade our Proteus Warehouse Management System at both the company’s Beoley and Alcester depots to provide our customers with an extended robust and thoroughly integrated business solution.”
He added: “His immense business acumen will ensure we attain our set business goals and continue to deliver Oakland customers with an ever evolving and enhanced customer focused service platform to meet today’s constantly changing supply chain business agendas.”
Paul, whose work in the development of a web based reporting platform has previously helped win the Motor Transport ‘Supply Chain of the Year’ award, said: “I feel extremely enthusiastic about my appointment at Oakland International, and very excited regarding the future of the business.
“I am honoured to have the opportunity to work with such a progressive and forward thinking team, and I hope my contribution to the business will be substantial and help “make a difference” for the company going forward.
“In the short term we will be working towards greater efficiency and integration within the business, with long term development of our internal systems to meet business and customer requirements.
‘‘Through the use of technology I hope to be able to provide Oakland with innovative and competitive solutions to give them the edge within this competitive and exacting industry.”
