Teamwork is so critical to the city

Team work and collaboration have been important elements of the bedrock on which the Birmingham professional and financial community has been built.

The gathering of over 250 members of the professional community this week to see the much anticipated launch of Birmingham’s Westside was testimony to the fact even in more difficult times than we are facing at present, there is an incredible appetite in the city for progress.

The energy and commitment shown by the landowners and developers behind this exciting new initiative was matched by the interest and passion from those attending the launch and eager to see how the collection of highly impressive and iconic regeneration projects (being) delivered will meld successfully with many exciting new projects.

So ingrained in the culture of the Birmingham professional community is the spirit of team work – nowhere does the oft used expression ‘Birmingham is a village’ apply more so than amongst developers and their advisors – that we are almost inclined to take it for granted.

Undoubtedly the authors of the Big City Plan have picked up on this aspect of the city as a key to the delivery of ‘transformational change’ over the next quarter of a century. The bringing together of a disparate group of organisations is to see Birmingham working at its very best.
