Tim Watts sets sail after slander storm

Ahoy there, sailor!

I hear that Tim Watts, of recruitment firm Pertemps, is currently on a yacht tacking around the Indian Ocean.

As you do.

So it seems as good a time as ever for anyone foolish enough to follow in the wake of Martin Myatt, who – as the Post revealed – at a creditors’ meeting in the Black Country recently described him as a “raving dickhead”.

Tim sued for slander, won, and a damages hearing is in the offing.

Anyway the boy is away for a month or so on the High Seas.

Even so I wouldn’t advise anyone to repeat the offending allegation – the lad has always kept a keen eye on his empire and a close ear to the ground.

And given modern communications you can bet your bottom dollar he will still be issuing orders from the good ship Timothy, or whatever it is called.

Albeit he has never before seemed that bothered about his “image rights”.

Naturally though his chums have rallied round, shocked at the headlines and insisting Mr Myatt’s claim is indeed deeply inaccurate.

They say Tim has never been to a rave in his life!

It must be holiday season …

Because Birmingham Chamber spin doctor John Lamb and partner Lisa spent a week in Dubai and South Africa.

Quite how you fly East to then go back West by South is beyond me, but it was allegedly cheaper.

According to my spies in the Chamber – no doubt as inaccurate as ever – the couple paid something like £1,200.

And when the great explorer and renowned travel correspondent of Chamber Link magazine demanded a discount, the airline naturally bowed and scraped.

Supposedly he got the princely sum of £13 off, much to the amusement of the troops back in Blighty.

Hi De Hi.

I hear that Alan Birks, the retired former principal of South Birmingham College, has been on holiday at Butlins. Seems he took the grandkids having become something of a semi-professional child minder.

Or maybe he was also running the Punch and Judy stand!

Hi De Ho.
