    THE Proteus Foundation held a Charity Fundraising Ball at Birmingham ICC. Over 200 guests supported the event which included an auction conducted by Rory Daly. Llewela Bailey of ITVs Central News compared the evening.

    Bar and brasserie Bluu hosted an exclusive basement event for more than 400 of Birmingham's hip young professionals. Guests enjoyed complimentary drinks and canapes, as the house DJ played tunes into the early hours.

    Over 900 people attended this year's Commemoration Service in the parish church of St John in Bromsgrove. The Sir Thomas Cookes Sermon was given by Venerable Lorys Davies and the guest speaker was Humphrey Walters. The day included lunch in the marquees on Gordon Green, picnics and the traditional cricket match.

    HSBC's Midlands Corporate Team held a 'School Lunch' to raise funds for good causes. Dressed in school uniforms the team ran a pre-lunch tuck shop (a well-stocked bar) and served traditional school grub to hungry 'pupils' (customers and professionals). The event raised nearly £7,800 for local schools.
