Birmingham charities encouraged to apply to Community Giving fund
Charities in Birmingham are being urged to apply for donations from a special Community Giving fund created by family baker Warburtons.
Warburtons Wednesbury bakery/depot has grants of up to £500 for any charity that requires a specific piece of equipment or items that will help improve the quality of family life in their area. Any charity is welcome to apply for a share of the pot – groups simply need to describe what they need and how the donation would make a difference to their cause.
Mike Ewing, Warburtons area business development manager said: “With people across the country tightening their belts, small charities have never had such a hard time raising funds and are often overlooked. We are encouraging these groups to get in touch and let us know how we can make a difference.
“As a family business the company has a strong track record of charity giving and active involvement and recognises the positive effect of community partnerships.
“All requests for support will be carefully considered and will receive a personal reply from our community giving team. So anyone that feels their charity could be eligible for a donation, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.”
Birmingham based charities who wish to benefit from the support being offered over the next few months can contact the community giving team by writing to: Warburtons Community Giving, c/o Dan Houle, Vital, 14a Clarendon Avenue, Leamington Spa, CV32 5PZ.
