Firms sticking to their CSR goals
A major survey by international law firm Pinsent Masons has revealed that UK businesses remain committed to Corporate Social Responsibility and green issues despite the downturn.
The survey shows that companies are reinforcing their commitment to the ‘green’ agenda, with 84 per cent of large companies staying committed to their carbon reduction goals, which many now see as central to customer trust.
More than half (58 per cent) of companies with a strategy for reducing their carbon
footprint remain committed to reducing this during the recession.
This figure rises to 84 per cent of large companies with a turnover in excess of £100m.
Ninety-one per cent of businesses pursuing a CSR agenda will continue with their CSR programme.
Kate Fergusson, CR Manager at Pinsent Masons said: “Savvy companies realise that consumers and employees are increasingly looking to buy from and work for ‘ethical’ businesses.”
