A Warwickshire-based property company founded by one of the region’s richest men scooped the top prize at last night’s glittering Birmingham Post Business Awards 2012.

IM Properties - that is part of Bob Edmiston’s IM Group - won the Company of the Year award after scooping the Property and Regeneration category. The company won after enjoying one of its most successful years after posting profits of £31 million, the equivalent of more than £1 million for every member of staff at the firm.

The night was capped with a lifetime achievement award for John Crabtree, who made his name at Wragge and Co and remains one of the region’s best known - and well liked - business figures. He is also chairman of Sense for whom he has been a dedicated fundraiser for many years.

Birmingham Post editor Alun Thorne said: “This is the third year of the Birmingham Post Business Awards and they getter better every time. My congratulations go out to all the winners who represent the very best of what the West Midlands has to offer.”
