A new hard-hitting film shot in inner city Birmingham documenting 24 hours in the life of a young street hustler is due for general release in September.

Billed as the UK’s first hip hop musical, 1 Day uses unknown Birmingham actors and a behind-the-scenes crew drawn from the city and is set against a soundtrack featuring hip hop, grime, reggae and spirituals. All songs are created and acted out by the artists in the film.

The film follows Flash who wakes up to a phone call from Angel who is getting out of prison and wants the half a million pounds he asked Flash to look after.
