Birmingham singer/songwriter/pianist Rich Batsford will be showcasing his new album Mindfulmess at the MAC at the weekend.
Following on from his debut Valentine Court, Batsford says the new album "explores the experience of a lifetime's attempt to make sense of reality and live life accordingly, with frequently mixed results".
He has 30 years experience of singing, with the CBSO Chorus, indie bands and an ex-chart Beach Boys covers band.
His solo project began five years ago and has seen him perform at the Big Chill Festival, ArtsFest, Gigbeth and Drop Beats Not Bombs and curated events such as Project X Presents and Musituality.
He plays the MAC, in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, on Saturday, June 11.
A limited edition CD run of Mindfulmess will be sold at the concert and MP3 downloads will be available at his website www.richbatsford.com afterwards. The official album release is scheduled for Autumn this year.
* Admission to the performance at the MAC is £5/£7. Box office: 0121 446 3232 or www.macarts.co.uk
