Birmingham’s free Artsfest returns to the city this weekend.
The annual jamboree will once more provide an impressive display of unabashed creativity in the city, with a mouth-watering line-up of major artists from across several disciplines.
Top indie outfit Guillemots warm up for their forthcoming UK tour with a special headline show.
The band, fronted by Birmingham-born Fyfe Dangerfield, perform in Centenary Square on Sunday evening.
Appearing before them on the Kerrang!/Q Radio Best Of Birmingham showcase will be Casino, featuring guitarist Adam Zindani from the Stereophonics.
The Amateurs, Octane OK, New Killer Shoes and Soldier will also play.
Artsfest is the UK’s biggest free arts festival, with 3,000 artists performing in 600 events across 50 Birmingham venues.
Last year more than 250,000 people attended the extravaganza, based mainly in the city centre.
Saturday’s highlights include the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Birmingham Opera Company performing in Centenary Square, Global Fusions, an evening of World Music, at the CBSO Centre, and Birmingham musicians Rich Batsford, Tess, Michelle Lawrence, Templeton Pek and The Notebenders at various venues including the Town Hall and The Flapper.
