There was no danger of running out of Warwickshire Whizzers or Leamington Royals at the Leamington Food and Drink Festival last weekend.
Simon Kelly, of butcher’s Aubrey Allen, had a sausage maker on stand-by just in case they needed fresh supplies to feed the hungry visitors.
They were selling packs of their multi-award-winning sausages at the festival and boast 40 different varieties on sale in their Leamington store.
“I could tell you what’s in our Warwickshire Whizzer, but I would have to kill you,” he tells me solemnly. “People love them.’’
‘‘We had home-made pork pies alongside the sausages – all made with free-range pork. That’s what makes the difference.
“We’ve also got apple pie sausages for Christmas.”
