There will be no stone unturned when Aston Villa visit managerless Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup on Saturday, according to assistant boss Peter Grant.

The Scot is a huge fan of the competition and is determined to add to his cup memories, which is why Villa’s preparation for the tie has been so thorough.
Grant was Alan Pardew’s No.2 when West Ham were beaten by Liverpool on penalties in the 2006 final, and he also has long-lasting memories of watching famous encounters when he was growing up.
The trip to the lowly League Two side has all the makings of an upset but Grant insists the players will be fully drilled to deal with whatever is thrown at them.
“We’ll treat them as if we’re playing Chelsea,” he said. “The players will know every one of their players by the time we play them.
“We try to say to them ‘You want to win cup competitions because there’s nothing better as a player, manager or coach’.
“I was fortunate enough to get to the FA Cup final with West Ham. It was fantastic going along there.
“The build-up to everything in the FA Cup is something different, especially in England.
