Birmingham City: Boaz Myhill focused on closing the gap on top six

Boaz Myhill

BOAZ Myhill has expressed his belief that Blues should get better the longer the season goes on.

Blackpool visit St Andrew’s in the last match of 2011 on Saturday.

The Seasiders are perched in seventh place, on the fringe of the Championship play-off zone.

Blues have two games in hand on them and most others.

And they are six points from the top six, so it’s a vital game on New Year’s Eve.

“We had a difficult start to the season with the transfer window and stuff and we were unsure who was going to be here and who wasn’t going to be here,” said Myhill.

“And the Europa games, which put us behind in terms of games played in the league and obviously there are a lot of new players here as well, so we would hope we’ll be getting stronger in the second half of the season.

“Blackpool, it will be the same as the away game. It was a very even contest.

“I hope the conditions are a bit better than they were up there because it was the windiest game of football I’d ever played in.

“It’s another good opportunity for us. We’ve given a good account of ourselves against one of the better teams in West Ham United and hopefully we can do the same again.”
