LEE Clark has insisted that Chris Burke remains an integral part of Birmingham City’s future.

And the Blues manager is accelerating plans to bring in Chelsea’s Ben Gordon on loan.

Norwich City have again been linked with Burke, whose outstanding last campaign earned him players’ player and player-of-the-season honours.

Chris Hughton has been trying to prise Robert Snodgrass away from Leeds United for the Canaries.

But he has an eye on Burke, too, and there have been suggestions that he has come in for the Scottish winger.

But Clark insisted Burke was happy and settled at St Andrew’s in any case – something which Burke himself told the Birmingham Mail last week when the squad were at their Austria training camp.

“I’ve had no indication, nothing at all, about Chris,” said Clark.

“He is very, very happy here. He enjoys the training, he enjoys his football and it’s not an issue.
