Wet weather hit the first day of the 2012 AEGON Classic tennis tournament in Birmingham.
Spectators, players and officials spent Monday trying to shelter from the rain at Edgbaston Priory club, with many players taking advantage of an indoor practice.
This year's tournament sees top players Francesca Schiavone, Sabine Lisicki, Daniela Hantuchova and Jelena Jankovic among the players hoping to land the title.
