West Brom boss frustrated with more poor Albion defending
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray was left to bemoan some more dreadful defending by his side after they crashed 3-1 at home to Arsenal.
The Baggies have now conceded 17 goals in the last six league games after Nicklas Bendtner netted twice either side of a Kolo Toure goal All Albion could manage in response was an early Chris Brunt equaliserr to cancel out the first of Bendtner’’s strikes.
Mowbray said: “We won’t win any matches if we defend like we did in the first half.
“The first goal comes from a corner we don’t defend; the second from a free-kick into the box and a free header; the third from a straight run by their centre-forward from a ball over the top.
“The defending has got to improve. I take responsibility for the fact I bought all the players in, but the defenders are not stepping up to the job that is required.
“I am frustrated. We work on it – we don’t just wash things away. I have changed the individuals, but the goals are still going in against us.
