West Brom boss frustrated with more poor Albion defending

“All we can do is pick ourselves up and try again, try and bounce back from adversity.”

Arsene Wenger believes Bendtner showed all the class needed of an Arsenal forward.

Bendtner has sometimes been the target of Arsenal boos, but his contribution helped to end a run of four league games without a goal for the Gunners – and rekindle hopes of a Champions League spot.

The one-time Birmingham City loan player has been on target 11 times this season and formed a promising partnership with £15 million signing Andrei Arshavin.

Wenger said: “Bendtner is improving from month to month, and Arshavin from game to game as well..

“It’s different when you play for Arsenal Football Club. You are being compared to the players who played five, six or ten years ago. But you have to accept that a guy of 19 or 20 years old [Bendtner] will be better every three, six months. He has shown tonight he has the talent to be an Arsenal player.”
