West Brom could call Marek Cech in from the cold

Last year, around 19,000 supporters snapped up tickets on the Early Bird scheme.

Ticket office staff are currently processing applications from season ticket holders who have renewed but wish to move seats and the club said this year’s sales are well ahead of the number of season tickets that had been sold at the same point in the previous two years.

“We’re absolutely delighted that so many supporters have already committed themselves to the club for next season,” said finance director Mark Jenkins.

“The fact we have sold as many as 16,000 season tickets amid the current recession, and while our divisional status next season is still undecided, underlines the loyalty of our fans.

“The sales figures also suggest we fairly priced our season tickets. We were very mindful of the credit crunch when we finalised our 2009/10 prices, hence our decision to freeze them on the back of cutting prices by a third over the past two years.

“We want to say a big thank you to all the season ticket holders who have renewed and remind all other supporters they can still apply for a season ticket.

“We are also really pleased that season ticket renewals via Albion Online Ticketing are up by 27 per cent on last season.”

Adult season ticket prices for 2009/10 start at £349. However, the club still have around 200 £49 junior season tickets left, which are available when purchased with a full-paying adult season ticket.
