West Brom boss Mowbray offers lifeline to midfield duo

They have been cast as peripheral figures in recent months but West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray has stated midfielders Kim Do-heon and Felipe Teixeira do still have a future at the club and could still have a part to play in the closing three weeks of the season.

Kim has not featured in three months and Teixeira has been frustrated with his lack of opportunities since returning from a serious knee injury.

With the emergence and good form of the midfield unit of Chris Brunt, Robert Koren, Jonathan Greening and James Morrison, opportunities have been hard to come by and when Mowbray has made changes to his engine room he has turned to the drive and adaptability of Scottish youngster Graham Dorrans instead.

However, Mowbray has told his Korean and the Portuguese stars to remain patient and they will be used again.

“I hope he (Kim) has a future at West Brom,” said Mowbray. I like Kim very much as a footballer and yet he has had problems getting back to the level of before he was injured, and now he has to wait his chance.

“The midfield I pick is different without Kim. It has Morrison and Brunt and Koren so Kim has to be patient.

“What I do know is he is a very talented footballer and I am in no rush to let him leave our club. I hope he will stay and fight for his place.”
