CRAIG Dawson is on stand-by for his Albion Premier League bow at Swansea after the FA charged Gabriel Tamas with violent conduct.
Tamas has until 6pm tonight to respond following his allaged elbow on James Vaughan at Norwich.
An automatic three match ban would rule him out of Saturday’s trip, the League Cup tie at Everton and the home clash with Fulham.
Dawson was on the bench at Norwich and has seemingly nosed ahead of Gareth McAuley, largely due to his own form in the League Cup and with the England under-21s as well as the Northern Ireland defender’s illness.
Meanwhile, midfielder Graham Dorrans insists he is getting back to his best form.
The 24-year-old was impressive in his first League start since picking up an ankle injury in March.
“I feel like I’m getting there,” he said. “I had a bad injury and I’m still working on that to get it stronger.
“But I just need to keep myself going and get some game-time in. You only get match-fit by playing matches and that’s what I want to do.
“There is a lot of competition for places and everyone will be champing at the bit to get back in but hopefully I’ve done enough to keep my place. I don’t think I’ve done myself any harm.
