West Brom: Roy Hodgson sends a warning to his strikers

Somen Tchoyi

ROY Hodgson has warned Albion’s attackers not to assume they are regular fixtures – claiming there is little to choose between them.

The manager opted to leave Peter Odemwingie on the bench against Wolves due to fears over his fitness in the build-up to the game.

Somen Tchoyi stood in while the Nigerian went to Holland for checks on his ankle. Although Odemwingie declared himself fit late on in the week, Hodgson opted to keep Tchoyi in the team, alongside Shane Long.

The duo performed well against Wolves, with Odemwingie then coming on to score Albion’s second in their 2-0 win.

Simon Cox, who has so far had to remain patient throughout the season, is also an option.

As Albion prepared for Villa tomorrow, Hodgson said: “It was good to see Peter come on and be the player we know he can be.

“He’s missed a lot of football this year. I think he has started three or four.
