Wolves: Berra warns that QPR should not be underestimated

CHRISTOPHE Berra says there’s a touch of the Wolves class of 2009 about QPR and that it would be foolish to underestimate them.

Neil Warnock made a dozen signings in the transfer window, similar to the 11 made by Mick McCarthy on promotion from the Championship.

“They’re like we were when we were promoted, fresh to the league and wanting to take points early on,” said Berra.

“They’ve already had a good result on their travels at Everton and so we know how difficult it will be.

“For us it’s going to be just as tough a game as Tottenham and we’ll be treating it as such.

"We need to keep our standards high and if we do that I’m sure we’ve got a chance of getting three points.”

Berra saw QPR draw 0-0 with Newcastle on Monday: “They look a good team who want to pass the ball about. They’ve made 12 signings in the transfer window which could be the highest.

“They’ll be coming to us and fancying their chances but we are the home team and need to take the game to them.

"We need to put them under pressure and not let them settle and take our chances when we can. We won’t take anything for granted, this is a tough game.

“We’ve had a good start although of course it was disappointing to lose the game on Saturday.

“We played pretty well and started well and were maybe unfortunate not to go in at half time ahead.

“If we can keep playing like that for most games then we will certainly win a lot this season.

“We are disappointed to lose any game but we’ve done well against Spurs in the past and wanted to keep that going. Our performance was decent but they had that added quality to cut us open.
