DAVE Edwards says it is vital Wolves take the FA Cup scalp of Blues into Saturday’s derby with Villa.

Wolves have been beaten just once in their last six games and ahead of tomorrow’s Cup clash Edwards said: “It’s important we keep our run going against Birmingham.

Apart from the Chelsea game, which we should have got a point from, we’ve been getting results and not losing games and it’s important we keep that going.

“If we can get a result against Blues it will help us going into the Villa game, which is another one we will be looking to get three points from.

“Winning games, in whatever competition, breeds success in the league as well and it never does you any harm to build up a winning mentality.

“If we can do that, and take it into our league games, hopefully we can push up the table a little bit.”
