A woman is seriously ill in hospital after a car crash in Warwickshire.

The accident happened on the northbound carriageway of the A444 in Bedworth at about 4.45pm on Monday when a red Fiat Grande collided with a black Audi S3.

The woman, who was driving the Grande, suffered serious injuries to her neck, head and wrist. She is in a stable condition in hospital.

The male driver of the Audi was also taken to hospital but later released.

Officers from Warwickshire Police are trying to find the driver of a white Mitsubishi Evolution 6 with full body kit and boot spoiler.

The car was nearby when the accident happened and police believe the driver may have seen what happened.
