Post-mortem on Worcestershire raid victim

A post-mortem has confirmed that a Worcestershire sub-postmaster's son murdered as he defended his family from armed robbers died from a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

Earlier, 100 mourners joined Craig Hodson-Walker's mother Judy, fiancee Lisa Bundy and brother James, 27, at a packed St Mark's Church in Fairfield, near Bromsgrove.

The 29-year-old was shot in the chest on Friday morning as he battled robbers raiding his family's post-office armed with a handgun and sledgehammer.

His 56-year-old father Ken remains in a stable condition in hospital following surgery after he was shot in the leg during the attack.

West Mercia Constabulary currently have more than 100 officers investigating the shooting, whilst the Post Office has offered a £50,000 reward to catch the men responsible.

Detective Superintendent Jon Groves said his team had a number of lines to follow-up after a good response to witness appeals. He said: "We are also liaising with other forces as our investigation continues and we are determined to bring the offenders to justice as quickly as possible."
