Car industry given support package
A package of support for the UK's struggling car industry has been unveiled by Business Secretary Lord Mandelson.
The measures, which include both short and long-term help, were detailed in a statement to the House of Lords.
Lord Mandelson said the package would include guarantees to unlock loans of up to £1.3 billion from the European Investment Bank and a further £1 billion in loans to fund investment in green-friendly vehicles.
