Rohan joins the Manchester Run to raise money for autism

Rohan Kallicharan, a recruitment consultant from Birmingham is taking part in this Sunday’s BUPA Great Manchester Run to raise money for the National Autistic Society (NAS).

Rohan, who works for Reed Accountancy, in Edgbaston, said: "I have had flu for about ten days but am hoping to have recovered fully by Sunday.

"So far I have collected around £300 but am hoping to get even more. My mum has worked with people with autism for over 10 years and I now how much they can do with all the support they get from the National Autistic Society."

Rohan, 33, is the son of Alvin Kallicharran (the surnames are spelt differently), the former Warwickshire and West Indies cricketer.

NAS Director of Fundraising, Trevor Anderton, said: "We are thrilled that so many people have decided to take part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run this year and support the NAS. All the money raised will go towards providing vital services to people with autism, such as residential services, resource centres and various other means of supporting local people with autism and their families and carers.

"We now have an office in Solihull and our befriending service matches people all over Birmingham with someone who provides one-to-one support to people with autism and their families."
