Citizens given radar gun

Stoke-on-Trent is to get its first road safety scheme in which citizens will be issued with a hand-held radar gun.

Working in pairs, volunteers will use the £1,500 device in the Newstead area in order to discourage speeding.

The Community Speedwatch project has been organised by police and Stoke-on-Trent City Council's Casualty Reduction Partnership.
