Fire at Birmingham city centre flats
Residents of an eight-storey block of flats in Birmingham had to be evacuated after a fire broke out on Thursday night.
Fire crews were called to the flats on Lower Essex Street in the city centre and found the building smoke-logged.
The first floor flat where the fire broke out was severely damaged in the blaze. No residents suffered any injuries in the incident.
