Hagley Road closed in Birmingham after fatal accident
A main route into Birmingham was closed today after one person died in a collision on the A456 at Ladywood.
Traffic was being diverted off Hagley Road from the Plough and Harrow pub up to the Five Ways roundabout after a car crashed into a tree.
Another person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the crash, which took place at about 3am.
Motorists faced delays of up to half an hour driving into work, and there were huge tailbacks after the road was shut down.
