Son held after dad hacked to death

A man has been arrested over the killing of his own father who was hacked to death with a machete outside his home just days after celebrating his 40th birthday.

Mohammed Anyait died in hospital after being hit several times over the head with the weapon.

One of two men arrested in connection with the death is Mr Anyait’s 20-year-old son.

Mr Anyait was discovered lying injured by a passer-by outside his home on Bordesley Green Road, Bordesley Green, at 2am yesterday.

He was taken to Heartlands Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
